Adrenal fatigue is a very common health issue which affects numerous people around the world. This problem is caused by poorly working adrenal glands that occur as a result of physical, mental, or emotional stress, or certain infections.

Adrenal fatigue is not a proven medical condition. However, in case you are dealing with this health problem, you should immediately treat it by making specific dietary and lifestyle changes.

Otherwise, you are exposed to the risk of getting adrenal insufficiency. Here are some of the most common warning symptoms of adrenal fatigue.

Feeling Exhausted after Exercising

After exercising, you should feel more energized. However, the physical stress can have a negative impact on your adrenal glands, which can make you feel exhausted and fatigued.

In this case, you should consider practicing a milder form of exercise, such as yoga, stretching, or walking. If the main purpose of your workout routine is weight loss, you should know that 80% of the results come from a healthy and well-balanced diet, rather than exercising.

Salty Food Cravings

If you suffer from adrenal fatigue, you are likely to experience cravings for salty foods.

In case you are dealing with a reduced production of a salt-retaining hormone, the salty food cravings will be accompanied by other symptoms, like heart palpitations, low blood pressure, and dizziness while standing.

Therefore, you should consume more mineral-rich foods, such as pink Himalayan salt and seaweeds, like kelp, dulse, and nori.

Sleep Problems

In order to refresh and energize your body for the following day, you should get 8 to 10 hours of good night’s sleep. Unfortunately, many people are unable to get the recommended sleep hours each night.

If you are one of these people, you might be suffering from adrenal fatigue. In order to fix this problem, you should try going to bed by 10:30 pm every night.

In case you cannot fall asleep, you should lie in a dark room. This will help your body to create melatonin, a sleep hormone.

Poor Digestion

When you are overstressed, your body is unable to properly digest the food and absorb the essential nutrients.

Increased stress levels have a negative effect on your digestion and metabolism, which results in indigestion, bloating, diarrhea or constipation, and weight gain.

In case you are dealing with poor digestion, you should eat healthy foods, drink plenty of water, consume lemon water, and take mineral and pro-biotic supplements.

Hormonal Imbalance

Adrenal fatigue can affect the function of your thyroid gland. This can cause hypothyroid symptoms, such as weight gain, dry skin and hair, poor blood circulation, and fatigue, which will result in a hormonal imbalance.

In case you experience a hormonal imbalance, you should start following a nutrient-rich diet, reduce the intake of caffeine, increase the consumption of water and herbal teas, and get proper hours of sleep.

Stiffness, Aches, and Pains

Another sign of adrenal fatigue is the occurrence of stiffness, aches, and pains. These symptoms can be prevented by getting a good night’s sleep and practicing yoga.

Also, you may take a warm bath with alkaline salts on a regular basis. This will help you to detoxify your body, reduce your inflammation, and relieve your sore muscles.
