Stephen Donovan, a master stylist at the Blowtique Salon in Chicago, suggests that you should schedule your workout and your blowout as far away from each other as possible.

Otherwise, your hairstyle may not last as long as you hoped for. Nevertheless, Donovan shares some useful tips and tricks that can help you to keep your hair smooth and fabulous while exercising.

Here are 4 tips that will enable you to protect your new hairstyle during a workout.

Wear a Headband

A headband can help you to protect your hairline since it will absorb any perspiration. When you finish with your workout, gently go through the roots of your hair with a clean towel.

By doing so, you will absorb the sweat and protect your roots from frizz.

Make a Loose Bun

A loose bun or a top knot is the best updo for exercising. Apart from looking good, this hairstyle will eliminate any creases in your hair since you don’t need any hair pins.

The only thing you need is a hair tie, or, even more preferably, an invisibobble.

Use Texture Spray

A texture spray can help you to fix your hairstyle after working out. This product will absorb any moisture, and it will increase the volume at the root area.

Apply Dry Shampoo

The usage of a dry shampoo can help you to freshen up the roots of your hair after exercising. By applying this product after a workout, you will regain the volume at the roots.

When choosing a dry shampoo, you should reach for a product which promotes shine in order to prevent the strands of your hair from becoming dull.
